Organised by Esther Price Promotions and emceed by ABC radio and television’s Verity James, the official launch of Efficient Farming attracted close to a hundred guests. Lending their support on the night were ambassadors from Commbank, Hardi Australia, John Deere, Nissan and New Holland, among others.
There was a palpable atmosphere of excitement during the night, which saw the Efarming boys on stage alongside Verity, explaining how the Efficient Farming idea was born.
John Warr, from a broad acre mixed cropping operation in the Northern Agricultural region of Western Australia, was out on the tractor last year contemplating another tough drought season when he got to thinking about a place on the internet offering instant access to the information of interest to an agricultural enthusiast.
"I thought there should be a place on the internet where I could view the weather conditions most relevant to my area and at the same time have access to other relevant information," says John.
The original idea was to include in the one place information that John himself used most often – net banking, stock updates and news. The site would be designed to benefit the agricultural industry as a whole, with easy access to current information on trials and research, without having to undertake arduous internet searches to find the relevant information.
“It was the sort of idea that made instant sense," Craig Dennis said. "We're all so busy and anything that streamlines your time is valuable.”
"I also liked the ability to customise the web site to suit the farm because it immediately expanded the idea to include all Australian farmers, no matter what their particular enterprise.”
Indepth’s Greg Mitchell also took to the stage to talk about the role Indepth Creative played in getting Efarming built and launched.
“A passion for agriculture and desire to make a difference in the industry” took Greg and the Indepth team down a long road, taking six months to research and collaborate on the idea before moving into the development phase of the project. With constant client liaison, Indepth Creative and Efficient Farming worked together through the planning and development of marketing strategies, brand development, promotional materials (such as demos, presentation folders and business cards), and most importantly the development of the technology behind the website, which will be the driving force for the project.
Indepth Creative and Efficient Farming designed a site that is easy to navigate, to ensure that all members of the agricultural industry can access quality information. Providing current, timely and accurate agricultural information, Efficient Farming will assist in the day-to-day running of a modern farm.
A highlight of the evening was an inspirational talk from Perth born Danny Green, who started his boxing career in a back shed in Koondoola before going on to have his first amateur fight in 1992 and fighting at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Green’s career has relied largely on his resilience and self belief, which he related to the determination and passion which have so far and will continue to be shown by John and Craig in the Efficient Farming project.
Danny Green recognised in the Efficient Farming team a determination which he himself has needed to carry him along his incredible journey towards success, and by sharing his experiences at the Efarming launch left the attendants feeling inspired, humbled, and a little excited thanks to a sly hint at the possibility of a comeback because of his continued love for boxing and competition.
Barry Court, the WA Liberal Party President, finished up the night’s speeches by officially launching www.Efarming.com.au.
From here John, Craig and the Efficient Farming will continue to improve the website and keep adding new features to get more and more farmers and community members involved.
Indepth Creative would like to congratulate Efficient Farming on their successful launch night, and look forward to continuing to work together with them to make the website as innovative as possible, in order to make a difference in the agricultural industry.
