Indepth Creative celebrates International Women’s Day with Momentum

Sunday 8th of March marked International Women’s Day; and on Friday 6th Indepth Creative celebrated at the Momentum Forum’s International Women’s Day Luncheon at the Perth Convention Centre.

International Women’s Day is celebrated around the world every year, with hundreds of events taking place throughout the month to celebrate the importance of the economic, political and social achievements of women, whilst also remembering the suffering and struggles women around the world are still fighting.

The theme for the 2009 celebrations in Australia was “Unite to End Violence Against Women” and Indepth Creative helped generate publicity for this event and was proud to support the event which raised funds for abused women and children through the Women's Council for Domestic and Family Violence Services WA.

Guest speaker Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC Governor-General of Australia presented the Momentum Most Inspiring Woman of the Year Award for 2009; Anne-Marie Syme, who started Loans Cafe, Australia’s first shop front mortgage broking company 11 years ago, won the business category of the foundation’s Inspiring Woman of the Year award. The community category award was presented to the founder of Gynaecological Awareness Information Network, Kath Mazzella, a survivor of gynaecological cancer who is raising awareness, support and research funding for women with gynaecological health conditions.
